– by Demian Allan[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e are now entering into the summer months of June, July and August, a time to celebrate and enjoy the fruits of our labour. From a political point of view the energy is one of basic survival and lessons being learnt from the Uranus square Pluto that has been a dominating feature since 2011. Saturn is retrograde during June and July only, going direct from August the 2nd in Scorpio. On the 21st of June we have the Summer Solstice as the Sun enters Cancer to herald the first day of summer. The indicators generally are like a bad hangover, we all know it’s going to take time to adjust to the shift of energy that the Uranus square Pluto has created. The USA in June and July has Uranus in conjunction with natal Chiron: the wounded healer meets the great awakener, meaning past political decisions come back to haunt the USA in terms of policies. However, Jupiter enters the USA’s ninth house of higher learning and education allowing new connections with political allies to be secured.
We start off in June with a Full Moon at 11 degrees in Sagittarius on the 2nd, ‘a tiger crouching as in the act of assault’ in the degree of ‘strategy’. This moon sits near the USA’s ascendant creating a little bit of chaos for the President and the opposition party. The rest of June could be in need of a cooling off period as Saturn, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde, with Mercury also going backwards in Gemini until the 12th. Saturn slipping back into the UK’s 2nd house of finance demands a reality check for the British public on growth and an economic recovery; it is only in October of this year that most people will start to see the economy properly expand. On the 16th the New Moon is at 25 degrees in Gemini, ‘An old book lying upon a table’ indicates the educational sector being exposed in the West, creating change and revolutionary ideas in how we teach our children.
The number of retrograde planets still dominates the astrological skies as we have Venus, Saturn Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron all moving backwards making us feel like we are metaphorically dragging our heels. There are some strong karmic lessons being learnt this month and a few of us might experience some kind of crisis in a situation that has been bubbling under the surface for some time; it is time to face the fear. The UK chart experiences a transiting Jupiter making a conjunction to natal Saturn, a potent mix of a new cycle beginning on a political scale in reference to the May elections. The Full Moon on the 2nd in Capricorn at 9 degrees is the symbol for ‘A cross and a broken key’ hitting the UK’s natal Sun, causing a re-evaluation of the Government’s identity and what the people want and what can be delivered culminating on the second Full Moon on the 31st in the degree of ‘vulnerability’. This could cause demonstrations and general unease as minority groups cause havoc in the political arena.
The big news is that Saturn goes direct on the 2nd in Scorpio relieving the pressure that has built up since last month. However Venus is retrograde all of August in Leo, and artistic movements Of the past start to infiltrate the public consciousness. Jupiter also enters Virgo on the 11th for a twelve month period; this is a combination that explores the health care sector in the West as well as public service workers. The New Moon on the 14th at 21 degrees of Leo depicts ‘A human face surmounted by a coiled serpent, a raised hand also appears’. The symbolism is clear: lust, greed and power will cause Governments to make rash decisions for fear of losing control. This could spark a frenzied attack in terms of terrorism and how each represented party responds – with humanity or with anger.
